Kerry was saved when he was thirteen years old and later received the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a Junior in High School. Growing up in Moberly, Missouri, Kerry’s life took a big turn towards the Holy Spirit and the power of God after reading Kenneth Hagin’s book, “The Authority of the Believer” and “I Believe in Visions”. An All-State and All-American musician in High School, he went on to graduate from Southwest Baptist College in 1981 magna Cum Laude. He was also president of Alpha Chi honor society and an All Collegiate musician receiving a Bachelor of Education in music. Before meeting his wife, Linda, Kerry taught youth Sunday school and assisted in youth ministry at Lighthouse Church in Moberly, Missouri.

Linda was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit in 1979 as a Senior at Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a two year member of National Honor Society, in Acapella Choir, Senior class Treasurer and on the tennis team. She moved from Texas to Lincoln, Nebraska right after High School and became a part of Living Word Christian Outreach Center where she traveled and sang with a group called “Sonrise from on High”. 

Married in 1982, Kerry and Linda worked together in music ministry first in Moberly, then Kirksville, Missouri at Word Alive Church. Kerry was music Director and Linda was the main worship leader. During this time, they were able to attend Continuing Education Seminars at Rhema Bible Training Center plus Kenneth Hagin’s Winter Bible Seminars and Campmeetings. They ministered together at local campmeetings, a nursing home, women’s groups and Full Gospel Business Men’s events. In 1996 they moved to Lincoln for Kerry to become music Director and Associate Pastor at Living Word. After Living Word merged with another ministry, they spent some time at Abundant Life and Lincoln City Church as God began to implant a specific vision in their hearts for Lincoln.

Originally ordained in 1985, they were re-ordained under the ministry of Apostle Marshall McGee in 2010 and installed as pastors of Awesome God Church International.

Kerry and Linda have one son, Eric, 24 who graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University. Eric played football and basketball at Southeast and was a member of National Honor Society. At Nebraska Wesleyan, Eric played basketball at guard and was a starter for four years. As part of his political science major, Eric has traveled to Estonia, Israel, Washington, D.C. and the Republic of Georgia. Eric is involved with the audio/visual ministry and Kingdom Kids at Awesome God Church International.
